A Time for Everything

Thank you, Lord, for introducing me to Ken.  Because of him I have had the opportunity to live an amazing life! He was my best friend of my youth. We attended the same high school, got married, finished college together and then lived in a variety of wonderful
places in IL, MO, MI, TX and WI.

Ken was lead into the ministry which took us to the other side of the world and back.  He served churches in Almaty, Kazakstan; Townsend, WI;
Washburn, IL and LaRose, IL.

We were blessed with 25 years of marriage and three great children.  He imparted wisdom and truth unto them and through them, his legacy will definitely live on!

This week we said "See you later" to a wonderful husband, father, pastor, and friend.  Words cannot express the impact that his knowledge and wisdom has had on so many people all across the world.
He will be missed but never forgotten.

We are comforted knowing that his faith was in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We are comforted knowing that he fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.  His body has been healed and he lives eternally in God's presence.

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
time to be born, and a time to die. . ."

  2. Romans 8 - "We are hyper-victors" - knowing that "nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Chrsit Jesus our Lord". Lisa and kids, as Ken has now received the victory of paradise, we pray that Christ's constant love and presence will comfort you mightily in your grief and strengthen you for the days, months, etc. with the assurance of His love and our prayers and thoughts with you as well. 4. I understand the grief and feelings of loss. After my husband died Nov. 10th 2012 it was difficult, but through venturing among the 36 year of marriage via photographs, I recalled the many wonderful adventures we shared, the love and the life. It makes me treasure the time I shared and be thankful for it. I hopes these quotes will be comfort to you.

Matthew 11:25-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”

“When the time comes for you to die, you need not be afraid, because death cannot separate you from God’s love.” ~ Charles H. Spurgeon

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

  7. In Lakota there is no word for good-bye only see you again, here or heareafter. Toska Ake. What a blessing that you are all filled with this assurance and the certain knowledge that Ken is free from suffering today. As human beings we must walk the painful path of grief, but love remains. Blessings.

  8. I am a friend of Ellen Griffin, from Eureka. When I was in college a woman spoke at chapel. She was a widow and one Friday night, while waiting for her only 2 children to come home from college for the weekend, was greeted at the door by a policeman and her pastor. The two children, one a classmate of mine, had been killed in a wreck on their way home. Her response to the news, "Thank God for the Resurrection." I know you are living in light of the hope we have in Christ. Eleven years after I heard her, at age 29 my husband died of cancer. I remembered her hope and peace and I experienced it, too. The pain of separation is terrible, but your dear Ken, still lives. Thank God for the Resurrection.

  9. On Saturday morning I read your post about hospice and found myself in tears for you and your children. May the peace that surpasses all understand be with you as you finish this journey and begin the next. Hugs to you all, Donna (and family). Ken was truly loved unconditionally.

  10. I missed this earlier, Lisa. I hope that you are doing well. I know what a "hole" in your life was created when Ken went to his Heavenly reward. It is hard to believe that he is gone-even though I was at the service where he was laid to rest. I am sure you have those moments, too, of just feeling that you will walk around the next corner and he will be there. It's an odd thing when that happens.

God bless you- I am praying for you and the kids. xo Diana
